Ok, I have NO IDEA where to begin..  but I have been debating about starting a blog since, umm a while now..  So here it goes.. And I hoping it isn't something I start and a few weeks down the road forget about it..  Because, let's be honest..... I DO THAT ALOT!!!!

I am not going to post anything in regards on how to be frugal today, because I would much rather introduce myself and explain what you can expect from this blog..

HMMM, where should I start....  I guess i won't bore you with my childhood and the in between, so let's just jump to 2006...

April 2006, My now husband (was not in 2006)  and I moved to Charlotte, NC; I had no clue what to expect.. I am a gal from an old small town, where everyone knows everyone...  So when we moved here, let's just say I was a little shocked, we lived in the heart of Southpark mind you.  But I thought we moved to the hood, I mean there were sirens going off every hour and sometimes more than twice an hour, I about died..   We lived in a rented house for a year.

April 2007- I married the love of my life in Sea Pines, SC on top of the Lighthouse (it felt like we were on top of the world).   We moved into OUR HOUSE, which is right down the road from our old house, we are still in the same vicinity (not in the heart of Southpark, but close enough).

Now during this time, we both had a decent income and didn't worry about much when it came to shopping..   UNTIL...  YEP you guessed it, PreGGerS!!!!!!  well, we were over the moon with excitement.  And of course I wanted to buy the best of everything.

BUT..........  I thought, how cool would it be to buy second hand and make it into something cool... So that only worked for the crib (which was given to me from my sister)  but this crib is awesome, my oldest niece; who is now 15 slept in it, my 2nd niece who is now 10 slept in it and my nephew who is now 5 slept in it. ( It is now resting peacefully in the attic, after my sweet son slept in it for 2 years, he was a climber; so he was in a BBB early).

Anywho, once I started messing around with the DIY stuff, I really got into it.  ripping carpet out refinishing steps, making my own decorations to hang on the walls, my own wreaths, mantel pieces and so on.

2010...  I LOST MY JOB... WHAT..... My heart sank and my pockets emptied quickly...  Now I ALWAYS enjoy dressing trendy and I would buy a new outfit every paycheck (now that I look back, that was CRAZZZYYY).

And not only did I always buy new clothes, I also shopped at Harris Teeter, the most expensive grocery store on the planet (ok World Market is, but we didn't have one at the time).

Needless to say, I really had to watch the Benjamins......  So I started shopping at Walmart for EVERYTHING....  And I mean everything.   I know some of you are like EWWWW and honestly so was I !!!!!

I have been on this journey for 3 years now, I have found many other places to shop for food (Like Trader Joes and Aldi)   new places to buy clothes (consignment shoppes) and I still do a lot of my own decorations with things I refab from the dollar store, yard sales and other places.

In this blog, I will share a weekly or monthly craft, recipes that are dirt cheap and outfits that I bought spending less that $30..

I will start posting things once my Son starts school on September 4th...  His last year in Preschool..   BITTERSWEET.

Until than, may your days be filled with Blessings,

Briana Famous (Famously Frugal).
